Hi, I'm Julie Trueblood

I am an artist, guide, and facilitator devoted to helping others reconnect with their inner wisdom through the process of Intuition Painting. I believe that creativity is a language of the soul; I think it’s our birthright. When we allow ourselves to paint freely, without judgment or expectation, we open the door to healing, clarity, and deep personal insight. My work weaves together art, mindfulness, journaling, and reflection to create a space where people can gently explore emotions, release stress, and rediscover joy.

My role is not to teach people how to paint, but to guide them back to their own creative voice.

In a compassionate and supportive environment, participants often find not only artistic expression but also renewed confidence, emotional release, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves and their lives. Intuition Painting is a practice of presence, trust, and transformation.

My Journey: From Loss to Creative Renewal

Life has a way of reshaping us in the most unexpected ways. For me, that transformation began with a series of profound changes, the end of my marriage, the closure of my esthetics business following a serious eye surgery, and the quiet shift into becoming an empty nester.

Each one of these experiences carried a deep sense of grief and letting go, yet they also opened the doorway to something powerful: growth, self-discovery, and creative healing.

When my vision and livelihood were suddenly interrupted, I was forced to slow down. That stillness initially brought discomfort, but it also became an invitation to listen more deeply to my body, to my emotions, and to my intuition. During this time, I discovered Intuition Painting, a process that became a lifeline and a language when words no longer seemed enough. Through painting, I learned to express emotions too complex to name; grief, hope, transformation and to transform them into color, texture, and movement on paper.

This creative practice not only helped ease my emotional wounds but also supported my physical healing and spiritual growth.

It taught me how art could transmute pain into presence and how expression could become a form of medicine. Alongside painting, I’ve learned the importance of play and joy in healing. I love starting my day with a good workout or a long run, often followed by adventures with my tiny but mighty travel companion, my Yorkie.  I am learning to play the guitar and love a good dad joke!

Creativity continues to be my grounding force. I especially enjoy painting with acrylics, often inspired by nature’s quiet beauty, from vivid landscapes to gorgeous birds. I also have a soft spot for holiday-themed paintings, where I can blend nostalgia, warmth, and a bit of festive whimsy.

Today, I shared my journey not as a story of loss, but as one of renewal. Life’s challenges became my teachers, guiding me toward deeper intuition, resilience, and compassion both for myself and for others navigating their own transitions.

Through my work, I hope to inspire others to see that healing and growth are always possible, even in the most uncertain seasons — and that creativity can guide you home to yourself.

After bandages were off and recovery from eye surgery.

I began listening to music and painting to recover. I found Intuition Painting two weeks later. This is a light example of my Intuition Painting during my recovery.

The Intuition Painting Mission & Manifest

Through Intuition Painting®, we empower people to return to their own intuitive creative flow, where authentic expression cultivates healing, vitality, and deep self-love.

Intuition Painting® is a powerful and distinct process of intuitive creative expression known for its profound impact on emotional healing, personal transformation, and inner awakening. Praised by participants as life-changing, liberating, and unlike anything they’ve experienced, this practice continues to earn deep respect and growing recognition for the way it reconnects people with their innate creativity and inner wisdom.

Founded on the work of multiple visionary pioneers in expressive arts—including Shaun McNiff, Natalie Rogers, Michelle Cassou, Stewart Cubley, Aviva Gold, and others—this process was most recently shaped into its current form by Montine Blank, evolving into a truly one-of-a-kind modality that blends intuitive painting with deep personal transformation and art-based coaching.

At its core, Intuition Painting® is about trusting the creative impulse within you—following your brush without a plan, releasing judgment, and allowing unconscious material to surface, move, and transform through the act of painting.

This process consistently opens doors to emotional freedom, healing, and personal growth in ways that traditional talk therapy, goal-oriented art-making, or self-development techniques often cannot reach. The transformations it offers are often unheralded—subtle and seismic, mysterious and embodied. Something moves… and you are not the same.

When you return to your innate creativity, you return to yourself.

When you follow your inner brush, you unlock the wisdom your mind alone cannot access.

We feel a growing urgency to share this work more widely because the world is calling—more than ever—for accessible, embodied routes to mental health and well-being. Intuition Painting® can happen at a kitchen table, in a studio, or anywhere a person is willing to show up with paint and presence. It reclaims art as an innate human tool for mindfulness, emotional processing, and inner healing.

Although this work has often remained outside the spotlight of mainstream wellness, it is rooted in deep integrity. As a form of art-based coaching, Intuition Painting® places the individual’s inner knowing and higher wisdom at the center of the process—fostering change that is self-directed, authentic, and enduring, rather than externally imposed or guided.

We believe that your intuitive creative expression is essential, not optional. It’s a natural human capacity—and a vital key to wholeness, especially in a world that often disconnects us from ourselves.

Intuition Painting® is for anyone who longs to feel more free, more whole, and more alive. No art experience is needed—just a willingness to explore.
